Disney Lorcana is a trading card game by Ravensburger. The cards feature new and old Disney characters like Elsa, Mickey Mouse, and Aladdin, with players needing a starter deck of 60 cards to play the game. It sounds like a lot. However, building your card deck is as easy as collecting cards from booster packs, building decks to defeat your opponent, or buying premade starter decks already selling on eBay.
Everyone has their ideal set of Disney characters they want on their aisle. However, the game has a predetermined set of three starter decks to launch the game. These include the Amber/Amethyst Moana and Mickey deck, the Emerald/Ruby Cruella De Vil and Aladdin deck, and the Sapphire/Steel Aurora and Simba deck. We expect the next set to release on November 17th for game stores and December 1st for mass retail. In the future, perhaps the next releases will follow a quarterly release schedule.
If the launch cards don’t sound ideal, you can use booster packs similar to Pokemon and Magic: The Gathering systems to expand your strategy. Fortunately, each starter deck has an additional booster pack with 12 cards. Alternatively, you may get the 24-pack booster boxes or the Illumineer’s Trove, which has eight booster packs, two deck boxes, and a handbook guide on how to play the game.
Top 9 Best Disney Lorcana Deck Builds
For now, there are over 200 cards at launch. They come in three starter decks that have 60 cards and two “ink” colors each. With all these options, it’s understandably daunting to pick the best deck builds. But don't worry; the best deck builds in the Disney Lorcana trading card game right now should give you a great head start. Let’s get to mixing and matching, shall we?
Mid-Range (Emerald/Steel)
Sometimes, sitting on the fence is okay, really. Mid-range is the miss-goody-two-shoes pretend. She values efficiency, often choosing to make mid-range threats, nothing too aggressive, nothing too nice. While Emerald has some quite powerful cards, Steel is just perfect for making a good bargain. Steel cards don’t worry about grinding, too. They can go all night long, paving the way for Emerald cards to do their thing.
For the Mid-Range deck, you can use:
4 Flynn Rider - Charming Rogue
4 Megara - Pulling the Strings
4 Kuzco - Temperamental Emperor
4 Captain Hook - Forceful Duelist
4 Hans - Thirteenth in Line
4 Simba - Future King
4 Tinker Bell - Tiny Tactician
4 Tinker Bell - Giant Fairy
4 Mad Hatter - Gracious Host
4 John Silver - Alien Pirate
4 Tinker Bell - Most Helpful
4 Prince Eric - Dashing and Brave
4 Fire The Cannons!
4 Smash
4 Beast's Mirror
Lore-Focused Aggro (Amethyst/Amber)
It’s in the name. Hurry on and hoard as much lore as you can, all while keeping costs down. Lore is pretty important to stack up in Disney Lorcana because it represents a character's length of time to win. Maleficent - Biding Her Time will do the trick here, thanks to its 2-Lore 1-drops, or Lilo - Making a Wish, too. You can also create distractions while Lilo and Maleficent do their thing, with cards like Simba - Protective Cub. Then, unleash the Stick - Rock Star card to keep the momentum going. Finally, let Lilo or Maleficient make a triumphant return as they continue to stack up on lore. Pretty neat, right?
For the Lore-Focused Aggro deck, you can use:
4 Lilo - Making a Wish
4 Lefou - Bumbler
4 Maximus - Palace Horse
4 Rapunzel - Gifted with Healing
4 Simba - Protective Cub
4 Stitch - New Dog
4 Dr. Facilier - Charlatan
2 Dr. Facilier - Agent Provocateur

4 Be Our Guest
Whole New World (Sapphire/Steel)
If you want to laugh your way to the crown, you’ll want to gun for ink as quickly as you can with the Whole New World deck. Meanwhile, your opponent will be struggling to catch on in the dust. Then, refill your hand so you can make sure when they catch up, they’ve got another thing coming.
For the Whole New World deck, you can use:
4 Aurora - Dreaming Guardian
4 Aurora - Regal Princess
4 Belle - Strange but Special
2 Hades - Infernal Schemer
4 Robin Hood - Unrivaled Archer
4 Simba - Future King
4 Tinker Bell - Tiny Tactician
4 Tinker Bell - Giant Fairy
4 Develop Your Brain
4 One Jump Ahead

4 Fire The Cannons!
4 Smash
2 Grab Your Sword
4 Beast's Mirror
4 Fishbone Quill
Stitch Turbo (Amethyst/Amber)
Die-hard fans of Disney Lorcana will know the Stitch Turbo deck already. It typically has low ink costs that help you make your move faster on the board ahead of your opponent. A quick tip is to go ahead and get “Stitch - Rock Star” out of the way, preferably by round three. Then, use characters with less than three costs, thus propelling you on a devious roll.
For the Stitch Turbo deck, you can use:
4 Olaf - Friendly Snowman
4 Stitch - New Dog
4 Maleficent - Biding Her Time
4 Befuddle
4 Lilo - Making a Wish
4 Magic Broom - Bucket Brigade
4 Lantern
4 Lefou - Bumbler
4 Simba - Protective Cub
4 Elsa - Snow Queen
4 Maleficent - Sorceress
4 Friends on the Other Side
4 Mickey Mouse - Wayward Wizard
4 Zeus - God of Lightning
4 Stitch - Rock Star
Ramp (Ruby/Sapphire)
Aggressors should have a blast with the Ramp deck. Don’t waste any time waiting for your opponent to attack. Rather, take the fight to them from the get-go. Gaston - Arrogant Hunter or Donald Duck - Strutting His Stuff should work perfectly. Then, wind up with Maui - Hero To All. It’s guns blazing with this one and leaving the chicken in you for the dinner table.
For the Ramp deck, you can use:
3 Donald Duck - Boisterous Fowl
2 Gaston - Arrogant Hunter
4 Gramma Tala - Storyteller
2 Philoctetes - Trainer of Heroes
4 Aladdin - Street Rat
4 Mickey Mouse - Detective
4 Maui - Hero to All
4 Donald Duck - Strutting His Stuff
4 Stitch - Abomination
4 Mufasa - King of the pride Lands
2 Scar - Mastermind
2 Aladdin - Heroic Outlaw
3 Triton - Sea King
4 Develop Your Brain
4 Dragon Fire
4 One Jump Ahead
2 Let it Go
4 Be Prepared
Villains (Amethyst/Amber)
The villains' pack is built around the god of Hades, the King of Olympus himself. It’ll need you to overwhelm your opponent, especially when they’ve spent all their sweat and tears in the early to mid-game rounds. It’s a cool deck to gun for and perfect for sneaking up on opponents. However, most of the cards on this deck are “uninkable.” So, it will be a grind to amass as much inkwell as possible to go up against aggressive decks.
For the Villains deck, you can use:
4 Lilo - Make a Wish
4 Stitch - New Dog
4 Maleficent - Biding Her Time
3 Pascal - Rapunzel’s Companion
4 Simba - Protective Cub
4 Dr. Facilier - Charlatan
2 Yzma - Alchemist
4 Hades - Lord of the Underworld
4 Maleficent - Sorceress
3 Rafiki - Mysterious Sage
4 Jafar - Wicked Sorcerer
4 Jafar - Keeper of Secrets
2 Stitch - Rock Star
3 Hades - King of Olympus
3 Be Our Guest
4 Friends on the Other Side
2 Lantern
2 White Rabbit’s Pocket Watch
Battle Princess (Amber/Sapphire)
Moana came to shine on this one, along with her squad of battle princesses. You want to go on the aggressive, questing for lore and challenging your opponent before they have the chance to respond.
For the Battle Princess deck, you can use:
4 Moana - Of Motunui
2 Let It Go
2 Just in Time
4 Aurora - Dreaming Guardian
4 Aurora - Briar Rose
4 Hades - Lord of the Underworld
4 Jasmine - Disguised
4 Maximus - Relentless Pursuer
4 Aurora - Regal Princess
4 Minnie Mouse - Beloved Princess
4 Develop Your Brain
Evasives (Emerald/Ruby)
Down to using wits to leave your opponent wailing in the dust? Take on the Evasives deck and kick things off with hardcore character cards. Pongo - Ol’ Rascal is an evasive card, for example, that only other evasives can take head-on. It, thus, narrows down the options for your opponent.
For the Evasives deck, you can use:
4 Duke of Weselton - Opportunistic Official
4 Sergeant Tibbs - Courageous Cat
4 Cruella de Vil - Miserable as Usual
4 Flyn Rider - Charming Rogue
4 Cheshire Cat - Not All There
4 Lago - Loud-Mouthed Parrot
4 Peter Pan - Never landing
2 Abu - Mischievous Monkey
4 Tinker Bell - Most Helpful
4 Pongo - Ol’ Rascal
4 Kuzco - Temperamental Emperor
4 Mad Hatter - Gracious Host
4 Goofy - Daredevil
2 Genie - On the Job
4 Tigger - Wonderful Thing
4 Mother Knows Best
Control Freak (Amethyst/Ruby)
This is the only time being a control freak will get you points. Or not, I don’t know. The point is the Control Freak deck lets you take charge of the board as early as possible. Then, as you move to the mid-game, you start to slow things down, but on your terms. Elsa - Snow Queen is just perfect for this to freeze time. If you want to make your opponent cry, pair it with the Maui - Hero To All card or the Aladdin - Heroic Outlaw one. Rest assured, you’ll have more than enough huge threat characters to take down your opponent like easy peasy.
For the Control Freak deck, you can use:
4 Dr. Facilier - Charlatan
4 Elsa - Snow Queen
3 Elsa - Spirit of Winter
4 Archimedes - Highly Educated Owl
4 Maleficent - Sorceress
4 The Queen - Wicked and Vain
4 Aladdin - Street Rat
4 Aladdin - Heroic Outlaw
4 Maleficent - Monstrous Dragon
4 Lefou - Instigator
4 Gaston - Arrogant Hunter
4 Maui - Hero to All
4 Mickey Mouse - Brave Little Tailor
4 Friends On The Other Side
3 Be Prepared
2 Dragon Fire
